This competition had as moto to create an isolated hotel for artists to live and work. The site was free to choose by each participant.

Lisbon, Portugal was chosen to host the Inspiration Hotel. Its site is located in Praça das Cebolas, between a historic neighborhood, Alfama, and the Tejo’s river that goes along the shore of the city. This is where the strong urbanity, daily turmoil and various urban problems establish the theme that triggered the creative process.

The project strategy aims to develop a thought of how today´s men and women, live a reality where the immediate and the superficial is valued, away from a more profound orientation, where time and thinking is inseparable from the Self. We seek to question a way we can find a moment of isolation, even as difficult it can be in the urban chaos. Allowing in parallel a consciousness awakening, inspiration and meditation, most often “asleep” by the frenetic pace of urban life, but always present in all of us.
