Currently living in Amsterdam, I worked until recently in a small architecture studio in Portugal. In parallel I developed, together with a former teacher and fellow student and a classmate, my own projects.
Previously my path was divided between professional work and the architecture course. Having also worked in other studios where I have done architecture design or 3d visualization. I also did freelance work in the same areas.
The approach I take to architecture comes down to three basic concepts: Function, Proportion and Perception (the phenomenological character of architecture): Function, the architectural object plays and is created and/or adapted in the best possible way to the function that is required; Proportion, architecture is for Man and for that reason must be made on its scale; Phenomenological problems, the experience of architecture, the way material, light, texture and shape can exalt the perception of space, through the senses, in creating a spatial ambiance. This is the substance of Architecture.
In each project I try to find references inside and outside the architecture, proceeding to an exhaustive research of the project and ambiance through drawing, photomontages and scale models.
